Breed: Lacy Dog
Born: May/26/2005
Color: Red
Height: 21"
Weight: 43LB
Distinguished: Bay/Stop Dog
Strengths:
Consistancy: No matter who I put Brutus on the ground with, I know exactly what to expect of him.
Grit: Brutus grew up thinking he was a catch dog but has backed off with age. He is now a gritty bay dog who will stop a runner in its tracks.
Finess: For as rough as Brutus can be, he seems to know when to back off of a pig, without applying too much pressure. But, he will put enamle in that same pig if it tries to move.
Bottom: Once he is on a pig, he is not coming off until the pig is dead or hobbled.
Holding Power Brutus ALWAYS catches with the catch dogs
Weaknesses:
Range: Short, far to short. Even though Brutus has found several pigs on his own, it has only happened on rare occasions when run with a pack. The fact is that the longer range dogs just get there first 99% of the time which leaves Brutus with a reputation for inconsistancy as a strike dog. When run alone or with other short dogs, Brutus hunts and strikes consistantly but never more than 200 yards deep.
Injury: Brutus Gritt leaves him on the injured reserve list pretty often.
Aggression: He is male dog aggressive. Though he normally gets along with any other dog when hunting, he is a distraction to inexperienced pups and also causes some problems in the box.
